This was Sheffield's first year of illuminations (with lights on loan from Cleethorpes). The lights ran from the end of London Road all the way along the Moor and Fargate to High Street down to Haymarket. Caption reads Through the hoop.... in Button Lane. All the fun of the circus and Santa Claus himself! Three wonderful set pices on The Moor. Our top picture shows the clown and his dogs, who perform their task as expertly as any real life animals. In the centre are the ever popular performing seals, and above is Santa and his flying reindeer on his way to visit lucky boys and girls.
