Private A. Himsworth of 4/2 Cleveland Place - missing [Albert Himsworth was actually killed on 1 July 1916, presumably at the Battle of the Somme; He served in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. He was the son of John and Ellen Himsworth, of Cambridge Road, Sheffield and husband of Mary Jane Rowbotham (formerly Himsworth), of 2/2, Cleveland Place, Sheffield. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.

Corporal Jesse Haworth Kenworthy of Streeton Villa, Deepcar - killed (Kenworthy, of the Durham Light Infantry, was the son of Joseph and Anne Kenworthy - he is commemorated in the Chocques Military Cemetery in France).

Private E Gentles of Birdwell, shell shock;

Lance Corporal J Sellars, of Standrop, [Staindrop] Chapeltown, wounded and missing [Joseph Sellars of the York and Lancaster Regiment, 8th Battalion, was actually killed on 1 July 1916, aged 23. He is commemorated on the The Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France. He was the son of Son of Henry and Rose Ann Sellars, of Staindrop Yard, Lane End, Chapeltown, Sheffield].

Private C Capps of 7 Burgess Road, Attercliffe, wounded;

Private H S Keightley, formerly of Sheffield, killed [Herbert Stanley Keightley, of the Lincolnshire Regiment was killed on 4 August 1916, aged 19. He was the son of Herbert and Annie Keightley, of 69, College St., Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire. He is buried at the Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, Longueval, Somme, France.

Private A Holmes of 773 Ecclesall Road, wounded.

Private J Stanley of 423 Earl Marshall Road, Pitsmoor, missing [Stanley, of the York and Lancaster Regiment was killed on 1 July 1916 and is at Queens Cemetery, Puisieux, France].

Private G H Burkinshaw of Penistone, twice wounded.

Private F Tyas, of 1/5 Fowler Street, missing [Fred Tyas, of the York and Lancster Regiment was the son of Caroline Tyas, of 1, Court, 5, House, Fowler Street. He was killed on 1 July 1916 and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.

Private C Hicks of 70 William Street, shell shock.

Lance Corporal H Dickenson of Hoyland Common, twice wounded.
