Information supplied by a customer: The date is possibly c. 1899-1901. The locomotive roundhouse in the background was closed in 1901 when nearby Grimesthorpe shed received the shearlegs from the depot in the photograph, thereby enabling the 1861 building to be quickly removed to make way for new sidings; the 1903 Ordnance Survey does not show the building. |
