Information from Malcolm Nunn, Bradfield Parish Council Archivist. This is an image used in slide lectures/ magic lantern shows by photographer Mr. Peacock. His notes to accompany the lectures also included some of his experiences while taking the photograph. Another view taken from the opposite side of the river. It shows the width of the flood at this place. The larger 20 ton stone is seen in all these views- in this one it is on the right side in the distance. On the pebbles another large stone is seen which would probably be about 16 tons. On the hillside you will see a road, this leads to Little Matlock and just beyond where we can see there are 8 or 9 houses in the middle of the field.
