The Regent cinema opened in 1927 and became the Gaumont in 1946. In 1969 the Gaumont became twin screened and in 1979 triple screened. In 1985 the cinema closed and the site became a shopping development to include a new Odeon cinema.

Albert Hall, Barkers Pool and Burgess Street. Opened 15 December 1873 as a concert hall. Began showing short films on a regular basis and from 17 June 1918 operated as a normal cinema. Destroyed by fire on 14 July 1937.
