The mens event started at 14.40pm the main event finished at 17.05, the cameras had stopped rolling, packed away and gone and all that remained of the crowd was a few die hard Pole Vault supporters staying to the bitter end. They were rewarded with a British Record by Nick Buckfield with 5m 70 to finish second and a German and Stadium Record of 5m 85 by Andrey Tiwontschik. This photograph is probably the only photographic record as others who took photographs didn't get the actual clearance or it didn't come out, only Dave Young, National Events Coach recorded on Video the vault.
