The ABC (Associated British Cinemas) opened on Angel Street in 1961. In 1971 it became the ABC 1-2 with an extra screen when the restaurant area was converted into a second theatre. In 1987 the cinema was renamed the Cannon. This closed in 1988. The building was later demolished and redeveloped.
