Information with the photograph. The barge is Alan Olivers', Thomas Porter. It is unloading one of the final cargos to be carried on the Canal. The Coils were produced by Allied Steel and Wire, Scunthorpe (previously part of B.S.C. Scunthorpe). It was a test load to assess the viability of transporting loads by barge. |
