After various shaping processes (between which metal is 'annealed', i.e. heated and made workable again) hardening and tempering, comes automatic grinding, in which blade is inserted between two grindstones which give it tapering edge, finally sharpened by 'whetting'. Here skilled hand-grinder removes imperfections.
