The ABC (Associated British Cinemas) opened on Angel Street 18th May 1961. In September 1975 it became the ABC 1-2 with an extra screen when the restaurant area was converted into a second theatre. In January 1987 the cinema was renamed the Cannon 1-2. It closed on 28th July 1988. The building has now been demolished and the site redeveloped.
