The line of wooden palings marks what was Angel Street. A great department store, an inn, and smaller premises stood there. Running from Angel Street on the opposite side, where a clear space is seen in the photograph, there were two streets, in each of which only a few odd pieces of temporarily repaired ruin remain. |
