Opened 23 December 1907 as a Music Hall. Became a permanent cinema on 20 July 1931. In 1948, came under the management of The Tivoli (Sheffield) Ltd. Closed 2 March 1963 and demolished later that year.

Poster on the wall (left) reads:

'After 56 years of entertaining the Sheffield public the Hippodrome will close on 2nd March, 1963. We thank all for their patronage throughout the years. Final performance, saturday, 2nd March, 1963 at 6.30pm.'
