From the sign on his chest Spot the dalmation dog raised pound;120 in 58 days in aid of the Prince of Wales Fund. This was probably 'The Prince of Wales National Distress Fund' set up by Edward, Prince of Wales to help soldiers families and those in 'industrial distress' during the First World War.

This image was originally part of the Tim Hale Photographic Collection. It was purchased at auction in September 2019 through donations from members of the public and a grant from the Graves Trust.
