The opening scene, painted by Mr W. Ramsden, is superb. In the transformation we expected to find something astonishing, but our anticipations were more than realised: it is the grandest scenic and mechanical effect ever witnessed in Sheffield.

The performances will commence with J. R. Planche's drama (in two acts) of

The Jacobite

After which, will be presented, first time in Sheffield, and entirely new allegorical, beautiful, comical, diverting, educational, fanciful, gorgeous, hyperbolical, intellectual, jovial, keen, laughable, merry, novel, original, peculiar comic, quizzical, romantic, splendid, transcendent, unobjectionable, volatile, waggish, extravagant, youthful, grand comic Christmas burlesque and pantomime, called

Conrad and Medora,

or, Harlequin Corsair, and the Little Fairy at the Bottom of the Sea!!

… [including] Signor Castioni who will perform his celebrated feats of Indian juggling with swords, knives, dishes, etc.

The prices during Christmas week will be:

Boxes 2s., Stalls, 1s. 6d., Pit 1s., Gallery 6d.

Half price to boxes only at nine o’clock.

Doors open at half past six, to commence at seven. No smoking allowed. Children in arms not admitted.
