On Saturday evening, May 1, 1858.

Will be presented Balfe's new and highly successful opera, entitled The

Rose of Castille

Composed expressly for the Pyne and Harrison company by Mr W Balfe, and specially commanded by Her Majesty to be performed by the Company in London, at Her Majesty's Theatre on the occasion of the festivities in honour of the marriage of HRH the Princess Royal with HRH Prince Frederick William of Prussia [Victoria, Princess Royal (1840-1901) and Prince Frederick of Prussia (1831-1888)].

Conductor Mr Alfred Mellon.

After which, Miss Louisa Pyne will sing

Rode’s Air,

With variations,

received on Thursday evening, with the most rapturous applause.

To conclude with, a domestic sketch of 20 minutes, by Mr E. Stirling, entitled A

Pair of Pigeons.

[Performers]: Mr A. St. Albyn Miss Charlton, Mr Edmonds,  Ferdinand Glover, , Mr W. Harrison,  Mr George Honey, Miss Louisa Pyne, Miss Susan Pyne, Miss Thirlwall, Mr Wallworth.

Stage manager, Mr William Brough. Acting manager, Mr Edward Murray.

Sir William Don and Lady Don, late Miss Emily Sanders are engaged, and will shortly appear.

Doors open at Seven o’clock, to commence at half-past. Children in arms not admitted to any part of the house.

Admission: Boxes 4s., Stalls, 3., Pit 2s., Gallery 1s. No half-price.
