Theatre Royal, Sheffield For the benefit of Mr William Farren, and positively the last night of his engagement, on which occasion he was sustained three of his most celebrated characters, Sir Anthony Absolute, Uncle Foozle, and Uncle John.Friday evening, Nov. 10th, 1848, will be presented Sheridan's popular comedy of The Rival's.Song ‘Tyrant soon I’ll burst thy chains’ by Miss Ada Harcourt. Grand Pas de Deux by Miss Adeline Lonsdale and Mr Hunt.To be followed by the popular Haymarket petite comedy of Uncle Foozle!The Cachouca by Miss Laura Sanders.To conclude with the new farce of Uncle John.On Monday evening, Macbeth, and a new nautical drama, of greatest interest, entitled the challenge at see; Or, the battle between the Chesapeake and the Shannon [Battle of Boston Harbour, 1813, War of 1812][Performers]: Mr W. Artaud, Mrs Bartlett, Mr Birkinshaw, Mr Browne, Mr Clifton, Mr Diddear, Mr William Farren, Mr Griffiths, Miss Ada Harcourt, Mr Hunt, Miss Adeline Lonsdale, Mr Mulford, Mrs Mulford, Miss Laura Sanders, Mr J. F. Saville, Mrs J. F. Saville, Mr R. F. Smith, Mrs M. Smythson, Miss A. Vining, and Mr M. Watkins.Various other novelties are in active preparation.Stage manager, Mr Mulford. Ballet master, Mr Hunt.
