Born on 19th Sept 1587, to Robert and Elizabeth Sanderson, at either Rotherham or Sheffield, (he was baptized on the 20th in Sheffield). He grew up at Gilthwaite Hall, Rotherham, attended Rotherham Grammar school, till his further education at Lincoln College, Oxford. <br />He married Ann Nelson around 1620, and was consecrated as Bishop of Lincoln on 28th October 1660. He died on 29th January 1663, and is buried in the chancel of the Parish Church of St Mary, Buckden, St Neots (for many years Buckden Towers by the Church, was home to the Bishops of Lincoln).<br />Information: S.
