Sign reads: Beauchief Abbey has been open (with the exception of a period of 100 years following the dissolution) for regular services and prayer from the year 1183AD - a period of 837 years. The current closure due to the Corona Virus is probably the first in the history of the abbey. Who would have thought we would have been celebrating Easter 2020 at home. This is the strangest Easter most of us will have experienced. However, although we are unable to attend the Abbey during Easter or for regular services we can still pray and worship together in spirit. With every blessing. Best wishes for Easter. Take care.
