Pictured on the left, holding the steel bar with the tongs under the drop hammer, is Herbert Reginald Beecroft. He was also a member of the Home Guard during the Second World War. He later married a 'Woman of Steel' - D. M. Beecroft, a female overhead crane driver who also worked at Edgar Allen's. Photograph donated as part of the 'Women of Steel' campaign.
