Leading Seaman J. Malia, of 83 Nottingham Street, Rotherham, awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal for rescuing wounded comrades during the landing at Gallipoli - an act which won for his officer the V.C.

On exhibition in Sheffield, one of the guns captured from the Germans during the advance at Loos can now be seen in Fitzalan Square. It is a 77mm. field gun, and was taken by the Seventh Division on 25 Sep 1915

Second-Lieutenant Samuel Ernest Bridgwater, 80 Middlewood Road, Hillsborough, formerly a sergeant in the Sheffield City Battalion, killed in action. He went through the South African War, and was for some time in the Yorkshire Dragoons.
