968 Sapper A. McClarence, Royal Engineers, [who died] 1st July, 1916, age 19. Gone but not forgotten.

Commemorated at Aveluy Wood Cemetery (Lancashire Dump), Mesnil-Martinsart III. F.2., France.

Son of Samuel and Annie Amelia McClarence, of 1 Court, 5 House, Oak Street, Heeley, Sheffield.

Sapper Arthur McClarence was also Uncle to Sheffield travel writer and journalist Stephen McClarence.
