Notes:

The Avril was originally called Pioneer II after their first boat Pioneer I was sold for scrap. Aquired in 1983 as a shell and built up and painted by pupils, art teacher Marion Windle and volunteers. Probably renamed the Avril in 1985. Park House School had all the workshops including a forge for the work to be done. The first boat gave some of the pupils an opportunity to go on holiday for the first time and for the whole school to be involved in a project.
