Engine Number 60145. For many the principal interest of this rail tour were the engines involved. Therefore, great was the disappointment of the waiting enthusiasts when no. 60145 arrived; one of the more glamorous, elite A4 class had been expected to haul this leg of the tour, as advertised. On the extreme left note the eye-catching chevrons of a diesel shunter. With the October 1965 closure of Canklow (Rotherham) steam shed, the former Station Pilot duties of their B1 class engines had by now passed to the diesel shunters (see v00558)
