Lord Mayor, Mrs. Ann Eliza Longden; Lady Mayoress, Miss Nellie Longden aboard H.M.S. Sheffield to present gifts on behalf of the City of Sheffield. Other prominent citizens from Sheffield included: Master and Mistress Cutler, Col. and Mrs. F.A. Neill; the Deputy Lord Mayor, Ald. F. Thraves and Mrs. Thraves; Ald. E.G. Rowlinson (Lord Mayor elect) and Mrs. Rowlinson; Mr. and Mrs. James Longden, The Bishop of Sheffield, the Town Clerk, Mr. E.B. Gibson and Mrs. Gibson; the Chief Constable, Major F.S. James and donors of gifts. She was received by Captain W.P. Mark Wardlow, D.S.O., R.N. commanding officer, second in command, Commander F.J.P. Butler, M.B.E.; representatives, ratings and four natives of Sheffield members of the crew were introduced.
