The view shows the contrast between the houses, some of them still of the back the back style, most without bathrooms or inside toilets, of the old Pitsmoor, and the houses of new Pitsmoor, with with all mod cons incuding blown air central heating. Many of the old streets, Railway Street, Fitzalan Street, Stone Street, Rock Lane, Helen Terrace, Montfort Road and Monfort Street, which can be seen in this view are now lost.
