Notes:	This photograph was taken when the Bishop of Sheffield, at the invitation of the Lord Mayor, attended the Council Meeting and opened its proceedings with prayers. This followed the call to prayer made by H.M. The King, on the evening of the previous day, Tuesday, 6th June, when a landing in force was made upon the coast of Normandy by the Allied Expeditionary Force.
