The sign reads T. McTaggart Chimmney Sweep (sic).

The 1891 Census records only two families with the name McTaggart, both in the Park District Lord Street - Alice widow aged 56, John son 28 and James son 25 Long Henry Row - boarders Christopher 30, Catherine 25 and Alice M.

No trace has been found for a chimney sweep called McTaggart in Sheffield from 1840 – 1940.
