Notes:

Greater Britain' built 1891. Specially painted in honour of Queen Victoria's Jubilee, 1897. Later used for hauling express goods trains.

Reverse of postcard reads:

London and North Western Railway, Sheffield. City Station and warehouse. Most Central. Equipped hydraulics and electricity. Loading and unloading performed under cover.

Nunnery Station. Specially adapted for station to station and heavy traffic. Crane power up to 40 tons.

Express goods trains to all parts.

This image was originally part of the Tim Hale Photographic Collection. It was purchased at auction in September 2019 through donations from members of the public and a grant from the Graves Trust.
