Notes:	Back of card reads: Born at High Green near Sheffield, a one club man. He signed professional forms for Sheffield United in April 1925 at the age of 17, and since gaining the inside left position in the League team has retained it almost unchallenged. A stylish forward, with excellent ball control, and a strong shot with both feet, he relies entirely on his craft and skill; two years ago he played for England against Scotland. Pickering is also a useful cricketer, and has played for Sheffield United in Yorkshire Council matches. He is 5 feet 10.5 inches in height.
