Notes:	Carbrook Hall is first mentioned 1170 as the home of the Blunt Family, during the reign of Elizabeth I under control of Richard Fenton and then the Bright family. This is the surviving stone wing added about 1620 to an older house (demolished in the 19th century). By 1637 it was in the ownership of John Bright who fought with Oliver Cromwell during the English Civil War (1642-1649). In the 19th century became a Beerhouse and has stayed a public house ever since. Jacobean fireplace; Elizabethan plastering and oak panelling are features of the interior. Reputed to be haunted.
