Message reads:

To all partners at John Lewis, Sheffield. I am so sad that it is proposed to close this store. Sad for all the partners who have upheld that John Lewis management have expected of them. Sad also for the loyal customer (I have been one for early 50 years) and will miss visiting this store. 'The Place to Eat' has been a regular restaurant for so many of us to meet friends and family. Where shall we meet now? Thank you partners for looking after [us] all these years. I'm so sorry you have to leave your fellow partners and find new employment. Best wishes. You will be missed.

JN

John Lewis permanently closed its Sheffield store in 2021 (it did not reopen following a Covid pandemic lockdown in the first few months of 2021).
