In loving memory of Herbert Charles, the dearly beloved son of William D. and Emily Forsdike, who died 13th June 1884 aged 8 months. Also of Emily, dearly loved wife of William D. Forsdike died 15th February 1916, aged 57. Also of William David Forsdike, deeply loved husband of the above Emily, died, 30th March 1931 aged 76; also of Lieut Harold Brooke Forsdike, son of William D. and Emily Forsdike, killed in action, France, 1st July 1916 [Battle of the Somme], aged 20. Forsdike served in the York and Lancaster Regiment (14th Battalion). He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France (ref. Pier and Face 14 A and 14 B.)
