Unidentified group, some in fancy dress. This may have been publicity for a cinema, in particular the Albert Hall, which often promoted new films using people in costume.

Former Sheffield Park Picture Palace, South Street. Opened 2 August 1913, seating 900. Closed June 1962. Dennis O'Grady reopened the cinema on November 1963 but it closed for good on 31 December 1966. Reopened as a bingo hall. Later demolished

Cinema House, Barkers Pool, looking towards the City Hall

Albert Hall, junction of Barkers Pool and Burgess Street. Opened 15 December 1873 as a concert hall. Began showing short films on a regular basis and from 17 June 1918 operated as a normal cinema. Destroyed by fire on 14 July 1937
