A contemporary note on the back says 'Sims Croft, Wheatsheaf'. The name Arthur Jackson appears between the first-floor windows.

View from Tenter Street. The Wheatsheaf is believed to be the building in the centre of the photograph where the street turns to the right.

Building identified by members of Sheffield History (www.sheffieldhistory.co.uk) whose help is gratefully appreciated. The finding resulted from a deductive process comparing features in the image with Ordnance Survey maps, sales plans and street directories.

See image arc03792 for an earlier plan of the building.
