Killed in action, Thomas Paramore, Mobile First Aid Party, 12/13th Dec., 1940.

Thomas Paramore was 35 years and was killed on West Brook Bank. A report in the Sheffield Telegraph on Monday 16th December, 1940 has the heading

GAVE LIFE TO SAVE WOUNDED

One of the most courageous acts during the recent Blitz was ws that of Mr. Thomas Paramore of Ringinglow Road. A first aid driver who sacrificed his life while protecting a wounded man. Called to the wounded man Mr. Paramore rendered first aid and finding he could not get the man into his own car sent for an ambulance. Before it arrived a bomb dropped and Mr. Paramore sacrificed his own life by protecting the injured man with his own body. The man who is still aliveowes his life to the heroism of Mr. Paramore. Mr. Paramore who is well known in the city being a leather merchant with premises on Spital Hill. He leaves a widow and 7 year old daughter.

Thomas Wilson, aged 52 years of 86 Ecclesall Road, killed on Westbrook Bank, 15th December1940 was identified by his brother John Wilson.

He was buried in City Road Cemetery on 22nd December, 1940. Section H, grave number 102.
