The parish church of St Wilfrid, behind the presbytery and its associated school were bombed during the Second World War. The building was semi-derelict for many years. In 1991 it became a drop-in day centre for the homeless. It also housed the Hallam Diocesan Caring Service and the Catholic Marriage Advisory Council. The name was later changed to St Wilfrid’s Centre. |
