A disused laundry was converted into workshops for starter businesses by Sheffield City Council's Employment Unit. 'The Workshop manager is able to offer support and advice to his tenants, and in addition certain common facilities are provided - wood and metal workshops, mess room, meeting rooms and office and reception facilities'.

The Bangladeshi Women's Co-operative has competed successfully for a share of the market in children's clothes.'
