Built in the 16th century. Named after the sons of William Blythe, John, Bishop of Salisbury and Geoffrey, Bishop of Coventry and Lichfield. Bought in 1753 by William Shore.

Opened as a Museum since 1976 following a renovation funded by Sheffield City Council and English Heritage.
