Gravestones read Sacred to the memory of Emma, wife of the Revd. William Mercer M.A. incumbent of this church who exchanged this world for a better life on the 11th day of November in the year of our lord 1851, aged 35 years. In affectionate rememberance of The Reverend William Mercer M.A. compiler of the church psalter and hymn book and for 33 years incumbent of this church. He died August 21st 1873, aged 62 years. For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him against that day. 2 Timothy 1.12.
