Sheffield United 'The Blades'. The club was first formed in 1899 as the football section of the Sheffield Uited cricket club who had been playing on the Bramall Lane ground since 1855. The Club's honours includes F.A. Cup winners 1899, 1902, 1915 and 1925. Finalists 1901 and 1936. Football League champions Div.1 1897-98, Div.2 1952-53. Runners up Div. 1 1896-97, 199-1900, DFiv. 2 1892-93, 1938-39. Record attendance 68,287 in F.A. Cup 5th round v. Leeds United in 1936.
