Description on reverse of card reads: Bert Menlove, Sheffield United. Centre Forward. Ht. 5ft. 8 ins., Wt. 11st. 7lbs. Born Goodmayes, Essex. A great distributor of play, and an opportunist of the first order. Came to Bramall Lane on March 9, 1921 from Crystal Palace. A leader of much promise, he acted as a tonic to the United attack at a time when such was sorely needed. A prolific goal-scorer of whom more will be heard. |
