Back of card reads: A Scotsman born in Falkirk, Napier served his apprenticeship with Maryhill Hibernians and on being transferred to Celtic in season 1928/9, he quickly came into prominence as an inside-left. He helped to win the Scottish Cup in season 1930/1 and again in 1932/3 and he was awarded the first of his four international caps in 1932. In June 1935 he left Celtic and joined Derby County, while in March 1935 he moved on to Sheffield Wednesday and has helped them in their endeavour to regain their place in the First Division. Napier is a clever constructive inside forward and he has had a marked influence on the play of the Yorkshire team.
