Theatre Royal Lessees and managers Messrs. Wolfenden and Melbourne, 25, Arundel Street, Sheffield. Third grand fashionable night of the present season. By desire and under the immediate patronage and presence ofCol. Harding and the officers of the 22nd Regiment, on which occasion the splendid band of the regiment will attend and play several popular airs. Last night but five of the gorgeous pantomime! Mr Wolfenden will appear for this night only by particular desire. Friday, Jan. 22, 1858, the performances will commence with the elegant Lyceum comedy of The Wonderful Woman. To conclude with the grand historical pantomime, introducing a variety of local, vocal, moral and whimsical events, (on a scale of grandeur never before witnessed in Sheffield), entitled Humpty Dumpty! Crook’d Back Dick and Jane Shore, or Harlequin Pearl Prince and Grape Queen! Patronised by the Siamese ambassadors. (The special guests of Her most Gracious Majesty, the Queen,) and the elite of the town. On Monday, Jan. 25th, the managers intend giving a grand special day performance of the pantomime only, in honour of the marriage of the Princess Royal [Victoria, Princess Royal (1840-1901) and Prince Frederick of Prussia (1831-1888)], commencing at One O'clock and terminating about Three, when the children of the charity schools will be admitted free.
