Caption: 'One of three views of the Works as it was about 68 years ago, say 1888. Probably taken for Mr John Wycliffe Wilson to show to customers in the USA. Note in the distance the [Emmanuel] Methodist Chapel which was destroyed by a bomb from a Zepperlin [sic] [Zeppelin] Airship during the 1914-18 War. After the War, S.S. Co. purchased the site including the schoolrooms, which were not seriously damaged and are now used as Joiners and Plumbers shops.'
