Woodhouse Wesleyan Church, Chapel Street, Woodhouse, showing schoolroom alongside, c. 1880
Sheffield_Woodhouse
1851-1899

This photograph is believed to have been taken shortly after the new church was built (the new church, built on the site of the old Woodhouse Wesleyan Chapel, opened on 30th April 1879). It shows a single storey Sunday School building to the left of the church and the schoolroom was enlarged in 1882 with the addition of a second floor which helps to narrow down the date of the photograph. Note the gas lighting at the entrance to the church.
