Corporal Edward John Audoire served with the Royal Engineers, 455th West Riding Field Company in the First World War. He was originally from Guernsey but relocated to Sheffield c. 1911 where he lived at 12 Warwick Terrace, Walkley at the time of his enlistment with his wife Jessie (nee Mettam) (1893-1982) and his daughter Elsie Constance, known as Connie (1914-2006).

Connie Audoire went on to serve as an ARP ambulance driver in Sheffield during the Second World War, based at the ARP Ambulance Service Centre, Hartley Brook School, Sheffield. Connie married Charles Dyson in Sheffield in 1950.
