Sarah Ann the wife of Lawrence Sampson who died September 4th [193-] aged 32 years and the above Lawrence Sampson who died April 20th 1911 aged 62 years. Also George Justice son of the above died June 8th 1926 aged 46 years. Also in memory of Norman Percy Burrell, Yorks and Lancs regiment, grandson of the above Lawrence and Sarah Ann Sampson fell in action July 20th 1916 aged 19 years, Battle of the Somme. Private Burrell (12/1991) of York and Lancaster Regiment, 2nd Battalion, was the son of Son of Percy and Gertrude Burrell, of 10, Byron Rd., Nether Edge, Sheffield. He is commemorated on a memorial at Authuile Military Cemetery near the Somme in France (grave reference I. 10). |
