Rattenbury was the first Minister of Park Wesleyan Chapel in Duke Street (opened 1831); He is listed as residing at 96 Arundel Street in an 1833 directory. Born in Tavistock, he married Mary Owen in Sheffield. Later, he was a minister at Scarborough. He died in London in 1879. For an obituary see the Sheffield Independent, 26 Dec 1879.
His papers are held at the University of Manchester Library (ref. DDHBR); his portrait hangs in the Museum of Methodism at John Wesley rsquo;s House in London.
