Notes:	So named after its acquisition by T. Bradbury and Sons, in 1920, with the approval of the late R.E. Leader. It was erected presumably by the Duke of Norfolk about 1780 for his agent Vincent Eyre who however cannot be traced as a resident. In 1791 after his elopement and marriage to Miss Henfrey, daughter of the Master Cutler, lived Mr. Thomas Leader then aged 21 where he resided for some years. In 1802 the property was to Messrs. Palfreyman and Finde; since which time it has been the residence of several well-known Sheffield families chiefly connected with the medical proffession. Here was born the late Dr. Porter. In 1920 the house was purchased from the late Marmaduke Wardlow by Messrs. T. Bradbury and Sons. Its last occupants from 1920 to 1937 were Messrs. Joshua Wortley and Sons, accountants, later removed to Paradise Square. The house was eventually purchased by the Sheffield Corporation from T. Bradbury and Sons, in 1939.
