Tatchell was killed at the 1st Battle of Cambrai on 4 Dec 1917. He served with the 455th (West Riding) Field Company, Royal Engineers.
His First World War service record (regimental number 476771) shows how he enlisted at Sheffield but was from Bow, East London, originally.
He was buried at Fifteen Ravine British Cemetery, Villers-Plouich, Nord, France.
